About This Role

The Korean International School is on the lookout for a dedicated and passionate Primary Learning Support Teacher to join our inclusive education team. The perfect candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and neurodiversity-affirming educational atmosphere, as well as possess expertise in supporting learners with diverse learning profiles in a mainstream setting.

Key Responsibilities:


Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion across the school community.


Collaborate with homeroom teachers to develop and implement differentiated instruction, accommodations, and universal design for learning (UDL) strategies.


Lead, mentor, and collaborate with Learning Support Teaching Assistants to improve student support schedules and initiatives.


Create, execute, and assess individualized student support plans, including Individual Educational Programs (IEP).


Deliver targeted, evidence-based interventions to students in one-on-one or small group settings, utilizing both in-class (push-in) and specialized (pull-out) models.


Monitor student progress through formative assessments and maintain clear, continuous communication with the multidisciplinary team, which includes staff, parents, and external specialists.


Conduct admissions screenings and learning needs assessments for prospective students, providing recommendations to the admissions team regarding placement and necessary support systems for a successful transition.


Coordinate and participate in student support meetings, IEP reviews, Parent-Teacher Conferences, and other relevant staff meetings.


Contribute to professional development training focused on neurodiversity and community awareness initiatives.


Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about best practices in inclusive and special education.


Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Learning Support, Vice Principal, or Principal.

Qualifications and Requirements:


A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field is essential.


A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent) is required.


A minimum of three years of relevant and recent experience in a learning support role within a primary mainstream educational setting.


Familiarity with the English National Curriculum and International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is advantageous.


Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized student support plans and IEPs.


Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.


Strong organizational, interpersonal, and motivational skills.


Proficiency in educational technology and digital tools for supporting teaching, learning, and student data management.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
