About This Role

UWCSEA East is seeking a committed and talented Part-Time Teacher of Middle School Art to join our team beginning August 2026.

The ideal applicant will be a passionate and flexible Art educator, dedicated to crafting and refining an engaging and well-structured Art curriculum. A proven track record in inspiring students, fostering their appreciation for Art, and guiding their personal creative development is imperative. A thorough understanding of the developmental requirements for students aged 11–14, coupled with a genuine enthusiasm for working with young adolescents, is essential.

Beyond teaching duties, the selected candidate will be encouraged to actively engage in department initiatives, support interdisciplinary collaboration, and participate in broader school events. Knowledge of the local art scene is highly regarded, as is the willingness to forge connections with local artists and art organizations to enrich students' educational experiences.

Applicants must hold an internationally recognized qualification and currently reside in Singapore. Availability starting August 2026 is also necessary.

Main Responsibilities

Expectations and Standards

  • Comply with the UWCSEA Professional Code of Conduct and the Safeguarding Code of Conduct
  • Provide teaching in line with the UWCSEA Teacher Standards

Person Specifications

  • A degree in Art or a related field, along with an internationally recognized teaching certification, is required.
  • Residency in Singapore
  • Contribute positively to the collaborative environment within the Visual Arts department and the wider Middle School teams.
  • Design and implement learning experiences that challenge students, accommodate diverse learning needs, and align with concept-based teaching practices.
  • Apply the UWCSEA Learning Principles to support effective teaching and learning.
  • Create assessments that promote continuous learning, offering timely, relevant, and constructive feedback on both formative and summative evaluations.
  • Demonstrate effective classroom management, addressing the academic, social, and emotional dimensions of student learning.
  • Maintain transparent and proactive communication with parents, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and educational journey.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
