About the DT Team
The Design & Technology department at Trinity School consists of a dedicated and collaborative team focused on enhancing student learning and outcomes. At Key Stage 3, we offer a rotating curriculum that includes Food Preparation and Nutrition, Textile Design, and Resistant Materials. For Key Stage 4, we provide two GCSE courses - AQA Design & Technology and WJEC Hospitality and Catering. At Key Stage 5, we offer AQA Product Design at A level. Our team includes three full-time and one part-time staff members, as well as three part-time technicians.
About You
The successful candidate will provide support across all areas of the department, with a specific emphasis on food. Responsibilities will include preparing equipment and ingredients for lessons, maintaining classrooms and equipment, and ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety regulations.
You will assist teachers and students during lessons and provide general support to the department. A solid understanding of food safety and hygiene is essential, while prior experience in a school setting is preferred.
Candidates should be skilled in monitoring, maintaining, and ordering equipment and supplies.
A positive attitude, a calm demeanor, and the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a demanding workload—potentially requiring long periods of standing—are crucial. Strong communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to work independently or as part of a team, maintaining a professional demeanor.
Candidates must be competent users of ICT, particularly with MS Office applications such as Word and Excel. Familiarity with safeguarding protocols for working with children is also essential.
