About This Role

SNA-HCMC is on the lookout for an experienced MYP/DP English Language & Literature Teacher to join our team starting in AUGUST 2026. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience within the MYP framework. Involvement in Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) is also expected as we work to expand our offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Familiarize and comply with the policies, practices, and procedures of SNA.
  • Engage in professional and effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Advocate for and integrate IB teaching and learning practices (ATL’s) into everyday instruction.
  • Model the attributes of the IB learner profile.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, promote a growth mindset, and exhibit strong emotional intelligence (EQ).
  • Support students with the MYP/DP exhibition when applicable.
  • Participate in collaborative meetings focused on grade level, cross-curricular, and cross-program curriculum development.
  • Dedicating yourself to continuous personal and professional development.
  • Regularly communicate with department colleagues regarding planning, assessments, parent engagement, subject organization, and classroom management.
  • Work alongside other staff to enhance the social and emotional awareness within the school community.
  • Actively participate in the pastoral care and behavior management of homeroom and other classes.
  • Attend and contribute positively to staff meetings.
  • Supervise student breaks as necessary.
  • Organize class activities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, attendance, planning, reports, and parent communications using ManageBac and Classdojo/Seesaw.
  • Engage with the parent community to keep them informed about student progress, encouraging participation in initiatives like Parents as Learner (PAL) meetings, Student Lead Conferences (SLCs), grade exhibitions, and the PTA.
  • Support new staff by serving as a resource for curriculum, schedules, and procedures.
  • Participate in and assist with school events, taking on additional tasks assigned by the MYP Coordinator.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Technology Design and a recognized teaching certificate; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IB/international school settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of the IB MYP/DP frameworks and inquiry-based learning strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for a diverse student population.
  • Strong classroom management and student supervision skills.
  • Expertise in incorporating technology and digital resources into teaching practices.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Creative, collaborative, and proactive involvement in school life and CCAs.
  • A commitment to child safeguarding, with the ability to provide valid background checks.
  • A readiness to participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student activities.
