About This Role

Position / Job Specification: Music Intern (ideal for recent university graduates)

Start: August 2026

Department: Primary

Key Responsibilities:

The Music Intern will report directly to the Vice Principal and collaborate within a team to enrich student learning and creativity in the music curriculum.

The Music Intern will be accountable to the Line Manager assigned by the Principal and will undertake tasks or projects as instructed by this Line Manager.

Tasks:

  • Assist in organizing and developing weekly and termly activities that correspond with the children’s learning topics throughout the school.
  • Create and manage resources in the Music rooms.
  • Aid in designing displays that highlight the children’s musical achievements.
  • Support music and drama events.
  • Help maintain the Music department's online presence (Firefly, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram).
  • Contribute to the improvement and development of the Music curriculum across the school.
  • Provide assistance to school leaders with additional tasks as required.

Professional Expectations:

The Music Intern should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A relevant degree in Music, ideally related to primary education, or a degree in any field accompanied by a demonstrated passion and notable accomplishments in music.
  • Strong evidence of enthusiasm and creativity in the area of Music.
  • Experience with young learners is preferred.
  • Availability to commit to the internship for the entire academic year from August 2026 to early July 2027.
