About This Role

* Uphold and promote the principles and standards of excellence outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
* Provide instruction based on the required curriculum, showcasing thorough and current knowledge of the subject matter.
* Design and deliver engaging lessons that inspire students, utilizing suitable materials and classroom environments to accommodate various learning styles.
* Prepare written documentation of lesson plans and preparations upon request. Maintain comprehensive records of curriculum outlines, yearly plans, attendance, teaching materials, assessment strategies, and more.
* Adhere to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
* Instruct students based on their unique needs through appropriate teaching methods tailored to diverse learning requirements, including late entrants, ESL learners, and students with varying academic abilities.
* Assign and evaluate coursework. Assess, document, and report on students’ academic growth, progress, and achievements, using evaluations to adapt the curriculum to individual student needs.
* Display proficiency in integrating media and technology within the classroom setting.
* Foster the overall progress and well-being of students, offering guidance on academic matters.
* Engage with external parties when necessary, such as officials from the Ministry of Education.
* Take part in performance reviews, appraisals, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) initiatives.
* Collaborate with colleagues in the creation and enhancement of teaching materials, resources, course outlines, and pastoral care arrangements.
* Engage in and, when appropriate, lead co-curricular and extra-curricular activities at the school. Encourage positive working relationships by actively sharing ideas, resources, and experiences.
* Supervise and monitor student behavior to ensure it is safe and appropriate. Develop and implement strategies to promote self-discipline and address disruptive behavior.
* Exhibit and promote cultural awareness and understanding while instilling a passion for learning.
* Assist in organizing and planning school events and functions, such as inter-house competitions, concerts, plays, and awards days.
* Maintain regular communication with parents, advocating for the GEMS philosophy and core values; keep parents informed about their children’s progress while upholding the confidentiality of student information.
* Go above and beyond the standard work hours when necessary to fulfill additional responsibilities with dedication.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
