We are seeking an exceptional Ministry of Education Certified Kindergarten teacher to collaborate with our team within the Senior Kindergarten program. You will be part of a committed teaching group that nurtures the positive development of young girls at the Crofton House School Early Childhood Education Centre’s two-year Kindergarten initiative. Responsibilities:
● Collaborate with a dynamic team of educators and early childhood specialists to co-create and implement an exceptional Senior Kindergarten curriculum.
● Work closely with a fellow teacher to plan all aspects of the SK program.
● Cultivate an environment that meets the social and emotional needs of young girls.
● Center play as a key component of learning, weaving it throughout all teaching practices.
● Develop and deliver engaging, interactive lessons that focus on student-centered, inquiry-based learning.
● Organize outdoor learning activities that utilize Crofton House School’s 10-acre campus to promote physical and cognitive growth.
● Utilize thoughtful documentation and assessment techniques to monitor student learning and progress, including using SeeSaw for tracking and communicating achievements.
● Provide individualized instruction and learning support for students, collaborating with the Learning Resource team as necessary.
● Build strong connections with parents through regular interactions, term reports, and in-person meetings.
● Contribute to the wider Junior School community by participating in co-curricular programming.
● Engage in professional development opportunities, including joining a Professional Learning Community, working with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies and student outcomes, and participating in school-wide learning initiatives.
● Draw insights from educational research, including Costa and Kallick's Habits of Mind, Harvard Project Zero’s Making Thinking Visible, and Debora Macnamara’s Rest, Play, Grow, to enrich your teaching practice.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience:
● B.C. Ministry of Education Teaching Certification (required).
● Early Childhood Educator or Education Assistant Certificate (preferred).
● Comprehensive understanding of play-based learning and its importance in child development.
● Experience utilizing outdoor spaces for impactful learning.
● Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
● Creativity, adaptability, and patience in nurturing young learners.
● Strong communication skills and a dedication to creating safe, caring environments for children.
● Awareness of the unique learning styles of girls and the ability to innovate to address their needs.
● Enthusiasm, commitment, and a readiness to engage in the co-curricular program and the diverse life of the school community.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
