Southpointe is seeking a passionate, energetic, and collaborative educator who is committed to inquiry-based and concept-driven teaching and learning for the Kindergarten Classroom Teacher position, which will commence on August 27, 2026. The successful candidate will report to the Junior School Principal or their designate.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work alongside colleagues to create and implement an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary learning program aligned with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP).
  • Build caring, respectful, and trusting connections with students and their families, recognizing the importance of partnership in education.
  • Develop a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports student well-being, voice, and mutual respect.
  • Utilize relevant and age-appropriate technology to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to the International Baccalaureate, the Primary Years Programme, and other school initiatives.
  • Design and deliver meaningful learning experiences that spark curiosity, creativity, and active participation.
  • Choose and customize instructional strategies, resources, and learning experiences to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Create and administer authentic assessments that guide instruction, encourage student growth, and provide timely, constructive feedback to students and families.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive records of student learning and progress for instructional, assessment, and reporting purposes.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with parents through reports, conferences, and ongoing dialogue to foster transparent and supportive relationships.
  • Collaborate positively and professionally with all members of the school leadership team to enhance student learning, staff development, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a strong dedication to continuous improvement in interactions with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Actively contribute to the school community by participating in community-building events during and outside of school hours.
  • Share expertise, enthusiasm, and leadership in co-curricular activities that enhance student learning and enrich school culture.
  • Apply robust, research-informed teaching practices in literacy and numeracy throughout the primary years.
