About This Role

Location: Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Qingdao, Tongxiang, Yantai, Hong Kong.

Duties:
A. Knowledge and Understanding:
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the ICT curriculum as detailed in the National Curriculum, IGCSE, and IB.
- Maintain a solid grasp of ICT subject matter.
- Address student inquiries effectively, being mindful of common misconceptions and errors in the subject area.
- Familiarize yourself with the secondary school curriculum and assessment standards.

B. Planning and Setting Expectations:
- Define clear teaching objectives and lesson plans that align with the subject and cater to student needs.
- Set challenging yet achievable goals for student learning and motivation, building on their prior knowledge and experiences.
- Identify students with special educational needs as well as those who are gifted and talented, knowing the appropriate resources for targeted support. Implement and document Individual Education Plans (IEPs) as required.

C. Teaching and Managing Student Learning:
- Provide effective instruction for whole classes, small groups, and individuals to meet teaching objectives, maintain engagement, and maximize teaching time.
- Utilize dynamic teaching methods that spark students' intellectual curiosity, apply effective questioning techniques, present information clearly, and use resources efficiently.
- Maintain high expectations for student behavior, creating a positive classroom atmosphere through focused teaching and strong, productive relationships.
- Promote positive behavior, enhance self-esteem, and encourage independent learning within the ICT framework.

D. Assessment and Evaluation:
- Assess the achievement of learning objectives and utilize assessment results to guide future teaching methods.
- Offer constructive feedback on students’ classwork and homework, setting targets to support their progress.
- Be aware of the expectations placed on students regarding the National Curriculum, KS4, and KS5 when applicable.

E. Relations with Parents and the Wider Community:
- Skillfully prepare and present informative reports to parents.
- Recognize that learning extends beyond the classroom, creating opportunities for students to relate their education to real-world applications.
- Acknowledge the significance of collaboration with external agencies.

F. Managing Own Performance and Development:
- Take charge of your professional growth and stay updated on research and advancements in pedagogy and relevant subjects.
- Understand professional responsibilities concerning school policies, guidelines, and practices.
- Serve as a positive role model for students in terms of presentation and behavior.
- Reflect on your own teaching practices to improve effectiveness.

G. Managing and Developing Staff and Other Adults:
- Foster constructive working relationships with colleagues, including co-teachers, specialists, and support staff.

H. Managing Resources:
- Choose and effectively utilize books, equipment, ICT, and other educational tools to meet teaching objectives.

Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and teaching certification or license with strong subject expertise.
- A minimum of 2 years of full-time teaching experience in a school setting.

- Exhibit a thorough approach to teaching across various year levels.
- Show a commitment to teamwork.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
