Position Overview

ULIS is seeking a passionate and skilled IB Mathematics & IB Economics Teacher to join the Secondary School team. The ideal candidate will build meaningful relationships with students, embrace inquiry-based and concept-driven teaching, and is committed to providing exceptional international education within a diverse, multicultural environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for teaching IB DP Mathematics (AA SL, AI SL, or AA HL) and IB DP Economics (IB2), providing support for Internal Assessments, preparing students for exams, and may also teach other classes at the Middle or High School levels depending on scheduling needs.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in IB Mathematics and IB Economics using inquiry-based, concept-driven, and constructivist approaches.
  • Provide structured guidance for IB Economics Internal Assessments (commentaries) and focused exam preparation.
  • Design, develop, and improve curriculum materials that reflect global perspectives and meet IB standards.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within a multicultural student body.
  • Effectively integrate technology into lessons to facilitate personalized and enriched learning experiences.

Assessment & Feedback

  • Create and implement formative and summative assessments aligned with IB criteria.
  • Track student progress and contribute to academic monitoring and intervention programs.
  • Provide timely, clear, and constructive feedback to students and families through school platforms like ManageBac.
  • Participate in processes regarding predicted grades and strategies for examination preparation.

Classroom Culture & Pastoral Care

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that encourages a passion for learning and respects diversity.
  • Act as a mentor or tutor, supporting students’ academic and personal development.
  • Uphold ULIS's commitment to safeguarding, child protection, and ethical conduct.

Collaboration & Professional Growth

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure an integrated and interdisciplinary educational experience.
  • Participate in schoolwide initiatives, committees, and extracurricular activities.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development to stay informed about IB standards and best practices in Mathematics and Economics education.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Valid teaching certification.
  • Proven experience teaching IB Mathematics and/or IB Economics; experience in both subjects is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in English, which is the medium of instruction at ULIS.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, contributing to curriculum development and student intervention support.
