About This Role

Raffles American School (RAS) is seeking a passionate and innovative High School Spanish Teacher to join our Middle & High School team for the 2026 academic year.

Position Overview

Raffles American School Bangkok is in search of a dynamic and student-centered High School Spanish Teacher who will teach IB Diploma Programme Spanish ab initio to Grade 11 and Grade 12 students, while also introducing Spanish as an elective choice within the high school curriculum.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within the IB framework and to create a new introductory Spanish course, enhancing the school's language offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Grade 11 and Grade 12 students IB Spanish ab initio
  • Support students in all aspects of the IB course, including preparing for assessments and fulfilling coursework requirements
  • Design and deliver engaging lessons that meet the standards of the IB Diploma Programme
  • Develop and implement an introductory Spanish elective for high school, with ongoing curriculum development throughout the academic year
  • Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records and providing timely feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues and the IB Coordinator to ensure program quality and continuity
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Modern Languages, Education, or a related field
  • A teaching qualification or license is preferred
  • Experience teaching Spanish at the high school level
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching IB Spanish (ab initio or similar)
  • IB training (Category 1 or higher) is a plus
  • Experience in curriculum development, particularly for introductory language courses
  • Background in an international or multicultural educational environment

Professional Development

IB training will be provided for the selected candidate if it has not already been completed.

We offer competitive salaries for fully qualified and licensed full-time educators. Please note that there is no additional housing stipend. Candidates will have their flight to Thailand reimbursed and will receive round-trip airfare to their home country at the end of each contract (for overseas applicants only). RAS will cover visa and work permit costs, and medical, accident, disability, and life insurance will also be provided.

Compensation
