About This Role

Repton Dubai is seeking to recruit a Graduate Boarding Assistant (Boys or Girls House) to commence in August 2026.

In this position, the graduate boarding assistant will take on the role of in loco parentis, ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of boarding students. Collaborating closely with the Head of Boarding and the boarding team, they will act as the main liaison between parents and the school during their duty hours, keeping the Head of Boarding and other staff updated on pertinent matters involving the students.

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate must demonstrate empathy towards young individuals, possess a good sense of humor, and have a sincere desire to aid in their personal development. At times, the selected candidate will need to enforce conduct rules firmly while applying behavioral sanctions in a consistent and fair manner.

Skills, Experience & Responsibilities:

Pupils:

  • Act in loco parentis for all students within the house, prioritizing their health, safety, happiness, and overall well-being.
  • Recognize and understand the individual circumstances, needs, strengths, and challenges of each student to nurture their talents and potential.
  • Fulfill scheduled weeknight and weekend duties, including organizing and leading weekend outings.
  • Be aware of students’ academic strengths and weaknesses; work together with Heads of Boarding, boarding staff, teachers, and tutors to ensure their backgrounds are understood and that evening prep conditions support effective academic progress.
  • Provide support for students facing academic, social, emotional, or behavioral issues.
  • Promptly report any child protection concerns to the Safeguard Lead, complying with the school's child protection and safeguarding policy.

Management:

  • Ensure that parents and pupils understand the aims and objectives of boarding in the house, as well as the principles guiding community life.
  • Collaborate with school nurses, doctors, and residential boarding staff to meet students' medical needs and promote a healthy lifestyle.
  • Work alongside the boarding team and housekeeping staff to encourage respect for personal belongings and the furnishings of the house.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with pupils; ensure that family-related incidents and issues are addressed promptly.
