Full Time Physical Education Teacher

Az-Zahraa Islamic Academy is seeking a Physical Education Teacher to join our team. Located in a private setting, Az-Zahraa Islamic Academy (AZIA) serves students from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 7, grounded in the values and principles of the Islamic faith. Our comprehensive educational program aligns with the redesigned curriculum of British Columbia, aiming to provide our growing community with a strong foundation in Islamic values, enhancing the faith of our youth in both thought and practice. We are committed to delivering an outstanding educational experience while equipping students with the skills they need to confidently and effectively participate in society.

AZIA emphasizes the development of strong individuals and responsible community members, imparting Islamic wisdom, thought, and practices. We welcome applications from empathetic individuals who understand the needs of children and are excited to become part of a dynamic team. Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• BC Professional Teacher Certification from the BC Teacher Regulation Office
• Strong knowledge of pedagogical practices, including instructional strategies, literacy/numeracy teaching theory, and child development
• Awareness of current curriculum trends, especially in early reading and numeracy
• A passion for participating in extracurricular activities
• A collaborative mindset to work effectively with a vibrant and enthusiastic team
• Experience with ESL or students facing challenges is a plus
• A background in Islam is advantageous.
