Position Overview:

1. Specialisation in Food Technology

  • Instruct Food Technology courses, including BTEC Hospitality, IGCSE (Food & Nutrition), and Elements.
  • Collaborate with the wider Design Technology department to encourage interdisciplinary learning.
  • Oversee the Food Technology classroom and technicians, ensuring proper organization and maintenance.
  • Plan and facilitate extracurricular activities to enhance student involvement and interest in the subject.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in Food Technology and related fields.
  • Utilize ongoing assessments to effectively inform and adapt teaching strategies.
  • Provide regular, constructive feedback to support student learning and growth.

2. Specialisation in Design & Technology

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), with hands-on experience with multi-axis CNC machines.
  • Exhibit a thorough understanding of engineering principles and design processes across various disciplines.
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans for the Middle Years Programme (MYP) while assisting with IGCSE/BTEC and post-16 courses as needed.
  • Foster a classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity and exploration, igniting a passion for engineering solutions.
  • Offer guidance and support to help students enhance their skills and confidence in engineering practices.

3. Specialisation in Textile

  • Teach Textiles across different year levels in alignment with the international curriculum.
  • Design and implement creative, inclusive, and practical lessons.
  • Develop schemes of work and effectively evaluate student progress.
  • Integrate practical skills, design thinking, and digital tools into textile education.

General Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE).
  • Familiarity with the MYP and the key components of the curriculum frameworks is advantageous.
  • Newly qualified teachers, as well as those with teaching experience in a recognized educational institution, are encouraged to apply.

  • IMPORTANT NOTE: The iPGCE (assessment only) does not meet the qualifications for Teacher Registration status from the Hong Kong Education Bureau, which is essential for teaching at an ESF school.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
