Lauremont School Director of Development

Lauremont acknowledges its location on the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Huron-Wendat, Métis, and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the original caretakers of this territory. The school invites applications for the position of Director of Development. Reporting to the Executive Director of Community Development, this role centers on spearheading major fundraising efforts while fostering a philanthropic culture at Lauremont.

The Director will be tasked with building a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects, designing customized engagement strategies, and working in partnership with the Head of School and leadership team to advance major and capital campaigns. Furthermore, the Director will oversee annual giving initiatives and ensure fundraising activities adhere to best practices for meaningful donor recognition and involvement.

The perfect candidate will be passionate about creating and enhancing a robust fundraising framework within an energetic school environment. As an experienced major gifts fundraiser, they will demonstrate a successful track record in nurturing and sustaining significant relationships that encourage philanthropic support. Comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution, the successful applicant will lead the organization and implementation of annual and capital campaigns, contributing to the development of sustainable fundraising practices. They will possess a strong history in fund development, campaign management, and community outreach, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

As a cooperative and relationship-driven leader, they will thrive in an educational context where connection, trust, and community are essential. Experience within an independent school setting and direct engagement with volunteers is highly desirable.

Lauremont is a distinguished independent day school situated in Richmond Hill, Ontario, offering both Montessori and International Baccalaureate programs. With two campuses, the institution serves approximately 900 students ranging from 18 months to Grade 12, laying the groundwork for a life marked by goodness and excellence. This is a current vacancy with a salary range of $140,000 to $180,000, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package. The new Director is anticipated to start as soon as possible.
