About This Role

Are you ready to inspire the next generation of creators?

At Lealands High School, we believe that Art isn’t just a subject on a timetable; it’s the lens through which our students explore the world, challenge perceptions, and find their voice. We are looking for an innovative, passionate, and skilled Teacher of Art to join our vibrant Creative Arts Department.

Whether you are an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for a supportive environment to start your journey, or an experienced practitioner looking for a fresh canvas, we want to hear from you.

Why Lealands?Lealands is a school where high expectations meet a deeply supportive community. We pride ourselves on:

Inclusive Ethos: We are a diverse school where creativity is celebrated as a core part of a balanced education.

The RoleWe are looking for someone who can:

Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4.

Bring a specialist skill set—whether that’s fine art, textiles, photography, or graphics—to enrich our curriculum.

Foster a love for the subject that extends beyond the classroom through exhibitions and extracurricular clubs.

Maintain the high standards of attainment and progress that our students deserve.

About YouYou’ll be a dedicated professional who knows that teaching Art is about more than just technique—it’s about confidence and curiosity. You should have:

A degree in Art or a related discipline and QTS.

The ability to motivate students of all abilities, from the reluctant sketcher to the gifted painter.

A touch of wit and the resilience to handle a room full of Year 9s with paintbrushes.

A commitment to the safeguarding and well-being of all young people.

Ready to Apply?

If you have the vision to help our students see the world differently, we’d love to meet you.

Visits from prospective applicants are welcome and can be arranged by contacting Mrs Sarah O'Connor (HR Administrator) on 01582 611600 or email - recruitment@lealands.luton.sch.uk
