Position Overview

O Castro British School is currently looking for an energetic and skilled Computer Science Teacher to become part of our committed team:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons that include topics like programming, algorithms, data representation, and systems architecture.
  • Teach students from KS3 to KS5, guiding them through GCSE and A-Level preparations (e.g., AQA, OCR).
  • Modify teaching strategies to support all learners, including those with SEND or EAL needs.
  • Continuously assess, monitor, and provide feedback on student progress.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the integration of new technologies.
  • Promote student involvement in extracurricular computing initiatives, such as coding clubs and competitions.
  • Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning atmosphere.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
  • C1/C2 proficiency level in English.
  • A degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
  • Experience in teaching Computer Science at the secondary school level.
  • A solid understanding of the British curriculum and relevant examination boards.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, HTML/CSS).

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
