About This Role

Join our vibrant team at Brighton College Dubai! We are currently expanding and seeking outstanding teachers to start immediately.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as an ambassador for the College at all times, both on campus and within the United Arab Emirates.
- Deliver lessons according to your timetable, fulfill staff duties as designated by the College Leadership Team (CLT), and actively participate in the Co-Curricular Programme by leading at least two activities weekly.
- Prepare lessons and necessary documentation for KHDA inspections, including taking the lead on the Innovation and ICT Indicator in the SEF/SDP and other accreditation bodies.

Teaching and Learning:
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the highest quality educational experience for our students.
- Encourage each student to achieve their academic potential through engaging and personalized instruction, tailored challenges, and diligent record-keeping and follow-ups.
- Adhere to all College policies regarding marking and assessment, teaching and learning, and reporting.
- Create robust, cohesive, and high-quality curriculum programs across all key stages.
- Utilize data to track, monitor, and intervene appropriately, ensuring all students reach their full potential.
- Develop and share schemes of work and resources using the agreed formats.
- Provide cover for colleagues when necessary and attend all required meetings and INSET sessions.

Professional Responsibilities:
- Foster pride in the College among students through high standards of appearance, behavior, and dedication.
- Ensure all communications are addressed appropriately and promptly.
- Attend Parents’ Evenings, Assemblies, Productions, Sports, and Special Events.
- Take responsibility for all College resources, particularly those under your care, and report any damage or loss to your line manager or the facilities manager.
- Contribute to the College website, social media, and publications as needed.
- Support the College’s Self-Evaluation and Development Plan.
- Cultivate a strong partnership with parents, initiating contact when appropriate and maintaining a record of interactions.
- Be present at school before 7:00 am and remain until at least 4:00 pm (subject to confirmation of school operation hours).
- Complete any reasonable professional requests made by the Head Master, Deputy Head, or CLT member.

Pastoral:
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in each child's personal and domestic circumstances, promoting their personal and social development.
- Actively uphold the social, moral, and cultural ethos of the College community.
- Create a supportive atmosphere by being familiar with and complying with all College policies, including the Code of Conduct, School Rules, and Anti-Bullying Policy.
- Be knowledgeable about all College policies regarding Health and Safety, and proactively ensure the safety of all community members at all times.
- Encourage exemplary behavior and a responsible attitude among students at all times.
- Be aware of and act in accordance with all policies related to the safeguarding of children.

Person Specification:
- Lead the development of Computer Science in the Prep School, promoting the use of educational technology across the entire College.
- Oversee the implementation of the 1-1 iPad program in the Prep School and the usage of the MDM system.
- Teach Computer Science from FS1 to Year 6, guiding and enhancing the teaching of the subject while promoting, supporting, and advising on the use of Educational Technology.
- Establish a strong working relationship with the Learning Technologies post holder in the Senior School.
- Provide a clear vision and strategic direction for Computer Science throughout the Prep School, including STEAM and Robotics.
- Explore opportunities to enhance the use of technology across the Prep School.
- Lead students in representing the College in regional competitions.
- Demonstrate the ability to deliver high-quality CPD for colleagues, coaching and supporting them to elevate their confidence and skills in using technology in the classroom.
- Essential qualities include the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, presenting a warm, engaging, and approachable demeanor to parents, students, and colleagues. Candidates must exhibit reliability and respect at all times.
- The ideal candidate will possess a university degree and teaching qualification from a recognized institution, along with experience teaching across key stages.
- Candidates must hold subject and professional qualifications acceptable to the KHDA to teach in the designated area.
- A distinguished teaching record is essential, with the flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse demands of working in a premier school, displaying creativity and innovation across the curriculum.
- A strong record of professional development is necessary, showcasing a positive and proactive attitude towards participation in CPD and the College’s PDR and appraisal processes.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with excellent organizational skills.
- A confident and proficient user of IT for classroom and administrative purposes.
- Passionate about education with a solid understanding of current UK best practices.
- Proactive involvement in all aspects of College life through active participation and support.
- Capable of presenting a professional image aligned with the high standards of Brighton College.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience is required for this demanding and rewarding position.
