About This Role

Join our vibrant team at Brighton College Dubai! We are in a phase of expansion and are looking for outstanding teachers to start immediately.

**Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Act as a representative of the College at all times, both on campus and throughout the United Arab Emirates.
- Deliver lessons according to a set timetable, fulfill assigned staff duties (as designated by the College Leadership Team), and actively participate in the Co-Curricular Programme by leading at least two activities each week.
- Prepare lessons and documentation required for KHDA inspections, including overseeing the Innovation and ICT Indicator in the SEF/SDP and other accreditation bodies.

**Teaching and Learning:**
- Support colleagues in providing top-tier educational experiences for our students.
- Encourage every student to achieve their academic potential through enthusiastic and personalized teaching, tailored challenges, meticulous record-keeping, and follow-up.
- Adhere to all College policies, including those related to marking, assessment, teaching, learning, and reporting.
- Design comprehensive, cohesive, and high-quality curriculum programs across all key stages.
- Utilize data to track, monitor, and provide interventions as needed to ensure all students achieve their maximum potential.
- Develop and share schemes of work and resources in the approved formats.
- Assist with covering for colleagues when necessary and participate in all required meetings and INSET sessions.

**Professional Responsibilities:**
- Foster a sense of pride in the College among students through exemplary standards of dress, behavior, and commitment.
- Ensure timely and appropriate action is taken in response to all communications.
- Attend Parents' Evenings, Assemblies, Productions, Sporting, and Special Events.
- Take responsibility for all College resources, especially those in your care, and report any damage or loss to your line manager or the facilities manager as needed.
- Contribute to the College’s website, social media, and publications as required.
- Participate in the College's Self Evaluation and Development Plan.
- Build strong relationships with parents, initiating contact when appropriate and maintaining records of such interactions.
- Arrive at school before 7:00 am and remain until at least 4:00 pm (subject to confirmation of school operating hours).
- Fulfill any reasonable professional requests made by the Head Master, Deputy Head, or any member of the College Leadership Team.

**Pastoral:**
- Take a genuine interest in each child's personal and family background, encouraging their personal and social development.
- Actively promote the social, moral, and cultural values of the College community.
- Create a supportive atmosphere by being familiar with and fully complying with all College policies, including the Code of Conduct, School Rules, and Anti-Bullying Policy.
- Be well-versed in all College health and safety policies and proactively ensure the safety of all members of the College community at all times.
- Foster exemplary behavior and a sense of responsibility among all students at all times.
- Be aware of and act in accordance with all policies regarding child safeguarding.

**Person Specification:**
- Lead the development of Computer Science in the Prep School and advocate for the integration of educational technology across the entire College.
- Spearhead the implementation of the 1-1 iPad program in the Prep School and the utilization of the MDM system.
- Teach Computer Science from FS1 to Year 6, guiding and enhancing the teaching of Computer Science while encouraging the use of Educational Technology.
- Establish a collaborative working relationship with the Learning Technologies post holder in the Senior School.
- Provide a clear vision and strategic direction for the Computer Science subject throughout the Prep School, encompassing STEAM and Robotics.
- Explore opportunities to expand the use of technology across the Prep School.
- Guide students to represent the College in regional competitions.
- Possess the ability to lead effective CPD for colleagues, coaching and supporting them to enhance their confidence and skills in using technology in the classroom.
- Essential attributes include the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively, and the ability to present a friendly, engaging, and approachable demeanor to parents, students, and colleagues. Candidates should consistently demonstrate reliability and respect.
- The successful applicant will hold a university degree and a teaching qualification from a recognized institution, along with experience teaching across various key stages.
- Candidates must have subject and professional qualifications recognized by the KHDA to teach in the relevant subject area.
- A distinguished teaching record is essential, along with flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse demands of working in a premier school, showcasing creativity and innovation within and beyond the curriculum.
- A strong history of professional development and a positive, proactive approach to participating in CPD and the College’s PDR and appraisal processes is required.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure while demonstrating excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using IT for both classroom instruction and administrative tasks.
- A genuine passion for education and a solid understanding of current best practices in the UK.
- Active participation and support in all aspects of College life is expected.
- The successful candidate will present a professional image consistent with the high standards of Brighton College.
- A minimum of 2 years' teaching experience is required for this challenging and rewarding role.
