College Admissions Counselor

BASIS International School Shenzhen is seeking qualified candidates for the position of College Admissions Counselor for the academic year 2026-27!

In this role, you will facilitate a daily college counseling workshop tailored for 12th-grade students, prepare comprehensive college counseling reports, and oversee the Senior Research Project (SRP). Your responsibilities will include organizing college admissions visits each fall, hosting family college counseling evenings, meeting individually with 10th and 11th graders throughout the school year, and assisting students in completing college admissions and financial aid applications, while also securing necessary recommendations.

Additionally, you will have the chance to introduce innovative program ideas, co-facilitate college information evenings, and develop and manage college planning and career assessment software such as Naviance. This position will enable you to work closely with students and parents to help them identify the right college or university that aligns with the student’s academic and career goals. The primary aim of this role is to ensure students are well-prepared and successful in pursuing higher education in the United States and beyond.

Who We Are Looking For:

Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.

In addition to a solid educational background, the ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills when engaging with parents and students, editing essays, and crafting letters of recommendation. A high GPA in your area of study, strong employment references, and experience working with students and families are also crucial.
