ABOUT THE POSITION
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent – Indigenous Way of Life, the Instructional Coach plays a vital role in supporting the holistic success of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit students. This position involves assisting educators across Manitoba in integrating Indigenous pedagogies, languages, and cultural practices into their teaching methodologies.

WHAT YOU BRING
• A Bachelor of Education Degree and a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for one).
• Familiarity with the Mamahtawisiwin Indigenous Education Policy Framework.
• Knowledge of the Manitoba Framework for Learning, including curriculum planning, instruction, and assessment.
• Proven experience in connecting curriculum with an Indigenous worldview and land-based learning.
• Comprehensive understanding of Indigenous history, truth and reconciliation calls to action, and Indigenous knowledge systems, models, and methodologies.
• Experience collaborating with Indigenous Knowledge Keepers, Elders, Grandparents, and Community Knowledge Holders.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and other consultants to enhance school planning and student success.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A valid Manitoba driver’s license with the capability to travel, including overnight stays, and adaptability to flexible working hours as needed.
• A demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.
• Experience in facilitating and delivering professional learning opportunities related to Indigenous Way of Life and Indigenous pedagogy.
• Fluency in an Indigenous language is a valuable asset.
• Proficiency in various computer applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Teaching experience across all educational levels (Early, Middle, and Senior Years) is also an asset.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
