We are currently seeking a qualified Science Teacher to join our Morven Campus for Grades 8-12. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated educator with a passion for teaching and the ability to engage in various aspects of school life, including extra-curricular commitments. This position is a Temporary Contract from August 28, 2026, to June 30, 2027.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging Science lessons that align with the BC Ministry of Education curriculum and, when relevant, Advanced Placement courses
- Create and facilitate inquiry-based learning activities, including laboratory experiments and real-world applications of scientific principles
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learners in a dynamic and collaborative classroom setting
- Work alongside colleagues to craft innovative lessons, units, and assessment methods
- Evaluate student learning and communicate progress through constructive feedback and formal reports
- Foster students’ critical thinking, research, and scientific communication abilities
- Provide additional academic support through tutorials or help sessions outside regular class hours
- Lead a co-curricular activity in one of the school’s four strands: Arts, Athletics, Academics, or Service
- Participate in school events and initiatives that enhance community engagement and student life
- Serve as an Advisor teacher or Community FLEX lead as assigned

Required qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education with a focus on Science
- Experience teaching the BC Ministry Science curriculum at the secondary level
- BC Teaching Certification
- Basic First Aid certification
- Canadian residency and legal work authorization in Canada

Preferred qualifications and experiences:
- Experience or interest in teaching Grades 8 and 9 is an asset
- Proven background in competency-based learning and assessment practices
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and improvement of teaching methods
- Passion for inspiring students to engage with real-world challenges
- Willingness to explore innovative pedagogical and assessment approaches
- Experience in a technology-rich teaching environment is advantageous

The current annual salary range for this position for the 2025-26 faculty grid is *$75,322 to $112,169, depending on years of experience and a Bachelor of Education. Faculty members with a Master's degree will receive a higher salary. *The 2026-27 faculty grid will be finalized in late April.
