Responsibilities:
● Implement a student-centered, inquiry-driven, and collaborative approach to delivering the B.C. Mathematics curriculum
● Foster the growth and development of individual learners through the Crofton House School Advisory program
● Collaborate and contribute positively as a member of the Mathematics department
● Cultivate relationships with educators and staff throughout the school community
● Actively participate in the co-curricular program as appropriate during the contract period
● Engage in school meetings and events, including professional development and planning sessions
● Establish a constructive and supportive culture for learning

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience:
● Essential: B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification qualification criteria
● Relevant university qualifications, preferably at the graduate level (e.g., Bachelor of Education along with a Bachelor of Science, Mathematics major)
● Experience teaching Math at the senior school level (grades 8 - 12)
● A thorough understanding of contemporary educational practices as outlined in BC Ministry of Education documents
● Experience with Advanced Placement courses and/or Calculus 12 is an asset
● Experience in an independent school setting is beneficial
● Familiarity with ‘Standards-Based Learning/Assessment’ is advantageous
● Awareness of the learning styles specific to girls and young women
● Collaborative, energetic, and passionate about teaching
● Committed to the art of teaching, best practices, and professional standards
● Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities
● Enthusiasm, dedication, and a willingness to engage in the diverse life of the school community

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
