About the Role:

Brighton College (Singapore) is seeking an inspiring Teacher of Economics and Business to join our expanding school community starting August 2026. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape and guide the academic landscape of the Senior School in Economics and Business, as we evolve from a premier Preparatory School into one of the region's leading all-through institutions, serving students from Pre-Nursery through Year 13.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead all aspects of Economics and Business education in the Senior School, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and academic progress.
  • Be responsible for the teaching, progress, and success of all Year 12 students in Economics and Business starting August 2026, with plans to expand this role to Year 13 as the school progresses.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Maths to provide guidance and support to Key Stage 3 Maths students.
  • Direct curriculum planning and implementation for Key Stage 5, preparing for the inaugural A-level cohorts in Economics and Business for Year 12 beginning August 2026.
  • Oversee assessment, tracking, and reporting processes, ensuring students are well-prepared to achieve excellent results in both subjects.
  • Demonstrate the necessary experience and skills to effectively teach Economics and Business at the A-level.
  • Serve as a model classroom educator, showcasing best practices, critical thinking, and high standards in teaching and learning.
  • Establish effective mechanisms for departmental self-assessment and ongoing improvement, ensuring alignment with best practices and real-world applications in the Economics and Business curriculum.
  • Design and manage a robust co-curricular program, including clubs, competitions, and enrichment activities that promote financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving skills among IGCSE and Sixth Form students.
  • Create and coordinate an annual calendar of Economics and Business events, such as workshops, conferences, and competitions, in collaboration with colleagues throughout the school.
  • Assist and mentor students applying to prestigious universities and business programs, including institutions like Oxford and Cambridge.
  • Thoroughly prepare students for internal and external competitions, including Olympiads, business challenges, and more.
