About This Role

Behaviour for Learning
Develop, sustain, and routinely assess effective behaviour systems to guarantee exceptional learning behaviours throughout the school. Communicate key behaviour metrics to the senior leadership team and implement necessary actions for enhancement. Provide guidance to the Principal on behaviour-related policies and collaborate with parents and students when issues exceed the scope of the Assistant Principals.

Safeguarding
Ensure that the systems for child safeguarding and protection are robust and continuously improved across the school. In the event of any child protection or safeguarding incident, take charge of the investigation and follow-up actions. Serve as the Dedicated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the school.

Well-Being
Take responsibility for the implementation of the wellbeing strategy and initiatives throughout the school, playing a significant role in enhancing the wellbeing of both students and staff.

Staff Training
Provide relevant training for staff to ensure effective implementation of behaviour and safeguarding systems, fostering consistency across the school.

Evaluation and Improvement Planning
Assess and evaluate the quality of students’ personal and social development, as well as their protection, care, guidance, and support (Standards 2 and 5 in the 2018 UAE Inspection Framework), and take necessary actions for improvement. Report evaluation results to the senior leadership team, assist in the preparation of the SEF, and utilize evaluations to effectively plan enhancements.

Holding Others to Account
Establish appropriate systems and structures to hold staff accountable. Employ a suitable mix of support and formal procedures to assess the performance of Heads of House, ensuring that staff meet the high standards set by GEMS Education and The Westminster School.

Policies and Procedures
Ensure that policies and procedures concerning pastoral care, safeguarding, child protection, and wellbeing are formalized and implemented throughout the school.

Accountability to Stakeholders
Foster a culture within the school that is focused on stakeholders, aimed at improving engagement and satisfaction levels for students, parents, staff, and community stakeholders.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
