We are seeking an ambitious and highly effective Assistant Principal - Mathematics to play a pivotal role in driving excellence across the academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional mathematics specialist and leader to shape the strategic direction of mathematics, improve outcomes, and support colleagues in delivering outstanding teaching and learning.

As Assistant Principal, you will be an exceptional classroom practitioner and a key leader in raising standards in mathematics across the academy. Alongside delivering outstanding teaching, you will support colleagues through coaching, mentoring and professional development, helping to ensure consistently high-quality mathematics provision.

• Provide strategic leadership for mathematics across the academy.
• Drive improvements in teaching, learning and achievement within mathematics.
• Lead curriculum development to ensure a challenging, knowledge-rich mathematics offer.
• Monitor and analyse performance data to raise attainment and accelerate progress.
• Coach, mentor and develop colleagues to strengthen classroom practice.
• Contribute to academy self-evaluation, improvement planning and quality assurance activities.
• Promote high expectations, excellent behaviour and a culture of academic excellence.
• Work collaboratively with leaders across the academy and Astrea Academy Trust to secure sustained improvement.

• An outstanding mathematics teacher with a proven track record of securing strong outcomes.
• Successful middle or senior leadership experience within a school setting.
• Strong knowledge of mathematics pedagogy, curriculum design and assessment.
• Experience of leading and developing colleagues to improve teaching and learning.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive improvement.
• High levels of ambition, professional credibility and resilience.
• A commitment to inclusion and ensuring every scholar can achieve their potential.
