About the Role

Bahlool British International School, a distinguished British international institution located in Baghdad, is seeking experienced educators who are trained in the UK for our IGCSE and A Level programs.

We are excited to announce the launch of a new Sixth Form (A Level) and are looking for committed teachers to join our innovative team. At the same time, we are enhancing our successful IGCSE program, which has consistently achieved remarkable student results.

Curriculum

The school utilizes the Pearson (Edexcel) British Curriculum for both IGCSE and A Level. Familiarity with Pearson / Edexcel specifications is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding teaching for IGCSE and A Level (Pearson / Edexcel)
  • Develop and prepare lessons that meet Pearson specifications and assessment objectives
  • Assist in the creation and launch of the new Sixth Form Department
  • Contribute to curriculum development, schemes of work, and internal assessments
  • Thoroughly prepare students for external examinations
  • Track student progress and provide necessary academic support
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and professionalism
  • Collaborate effectively with senior leadership and Sixth Form staff
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and initiatives related to the Sixth Form

Person Specification

  • British-trained teacher with a recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
  • Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject area
  • Proven experience teaching IGCSE and/or A Level
  • Strong understanding of Pearson / Edexcel exam boards
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to the establishment of a new Sixth Form
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a developing team
  • Experience in an international school or Sixth Form is advantageous but not required
