About This Role

Aldar Academies is in search of an outstanding Teacher - Primary (Maternity Cover) to join Mamoura British Academy, located in Abu Dhabi, with an anticipated start in April 2026.

Mamoura British Academy provides a British curriculum to a diverse student body up to Year 8, after which it transitions to a girls-only format from Year 9 onwards. Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning:

  • Possess a strong understanding of the curriculum.
  • Organize classroom resources and design displays that promote a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that cater to diverse learning needs within the classroom.
  • Motivate students through dynamic and imaginative teaching methods.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in line with school assessment standards.
  • Reflect on teaching practices, modifying the learning environment, planning, and curriculum as necessary.
  • Collaborate with specialists such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists as needed.
  • Integrate the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.

Assessment and Data:

  • Assume responsibility for the progress of a class.
  • Fulfill assessment and recording obligations to track student progress using Target Tracker.
  • Use assessment data to guide future planning, provision, and interventions.
  • Provide updates to parents and caregivers about student progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

Behavior Management and Duties:

  • Follow the school's behavior policy.
  • Effectively manage classes using strategies tailored to students' needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge them.
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, exercising appropriate authority and taking decisive action when necessary in accordance with the behavioral policy.
  • Act as a positive role model, consistently reflecting the attitudes, values, and behaviors expected of students.
  • Set high expectations for student behavior, encouraging self-control and independence.
  • Carry out assigned duties according to school policy.

Wider Professional Responsibilities:

  • Engage in a curriculum action group, assisting with planning, assessment, resource management, and related special events.
  • Support the organization and participation in school events, outings, and activities that may take place on weekends or evenings.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding student achievements and well-being using school processes such as CPOMS, as appropriate.
