Aldar Education is currently on the lookout for a remarkable Teacher of Further Mathematics (A-Levels) to join Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi, starting in the academic year 2026-2027.

Responsibilities

• Support the academy in realizing its overall vision and strategic goals while contributing to the achievement of relevant targets outlined in the academy’s improvement plan and self-evaluation document.

• Adhere to health and safety regulations and comply with academy policies related to safe working practices and equal opportunities.

• Follow the academy’s Performance Management Policy by setting challenging annual goals, and assume the role of performance management reviewer when directed by the Principal.

• Participate in annual training related to child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety, along with any other training deemed necessary for the academy's improvement or performance management.

• Attend all staff meetings and briefings.

• Foster an environment conducive to outstanding learning and teaching.

• Establish clear teaching objectives and outline how they will be delivered and assessed.

• Assign tasks that challenge students and sustain high levels of engagement.

• Set clear objectives that build on students’ prior knowledge.

• Identify students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or those who are particularly gifted.

• Provide structured lessons that maintain pace, motivation, and challenge.

• Utilize assessment effectively to ensure comprehensive coverage of the curriculum.

• Make informed use of performance data and key indicators to tailor planning, delivering differentiated learning suited to individual needs.

• Ensure effective teaching practices and optimal use of instructional time.

• Maintain a productive learning environment in line with academy procedures, promoting good practices in punctuality, behavior, work standards, and homework.

• Employ various teaching methods to:

• Align approach with content, organize information, present key concepts, and utilize appropriate vocabulary.

• Implement effective questioning techniques, listen attentively to students, and address errors and misconceptions.

• Select suitable learning resources and foster study skills using library, I.C.T., and other educational technologies.

• Ensure that students acquire and reinforce knowledge, skills, and understanding relevant to the subject matter.

• Critically evaluate personal teaching practices to enhance effectiveness.

• Assess and monitor students’ work, establishing targets for their progress.

• Systematically evaluate and document students' progress, maintaining records to track comprehension and completion, identifying strengths and areas for growth, informing planning, and recognizing achievement levels.

• Conduct assessments of students as required by examination bodies and in accordance with departmental and academy procedures.

• Prepare and deliver informative reports to parents.

• Engage in subject or academy-wide initiatives and develop plans that set clear targets and success criteria for development and/or maintenance.

• Contribute to the overarching vision of the academy.

• Strive to provide every student with the opportunity to realize their potential and meet high expectations.

• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective sharing and utilization of resources for the benefit of the academy, department, and students.

• Participate in the collective life of the academy through meaningful involvement in meetings and management systems essential for coordinating leadership and management efforts.

• Engage in marketing and outreach activities, including Open evenings/afternoons, Parent-Teacher Consultations, and events with partner academies.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, accompanied by a teaching qualification.

• At least 2 years of experience teaching the specialist subject up to GCSE and A Level.
