About This Role

Vietnam Australia School (VAS) stands out as a premier institution offering international bilingual education, currently serving nearly 8,000 students across six contemporary campuses. We are on the lookout for an innovative and committed Campus Head of Secondary to become part of our growing leadership team, starting in June 2026. Leadership Role in International Secondary Education
The Campus Head of Secondary will assume strategic and operational leadership at the Sala secondary campus, ensuring outstanding teaching and learning, robust pastoral care, and a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position is crucial for the implementation of our bilingual curriculum, which aligns with both Cambridge International and Vietnamese standards, fostering staff development and upholding the highest professional and safeguarding practices throughout the campus.

Key Leadership Responsibilities

Articulate the campus vision and translate institutional strategy into measurable objectives for student learning, wellbeing, and community involvement.


Collaborate with our Cambridge Professional Development Centre to enhance continuous staff improvement and leadership capabilities.


Engage with a multicultural school community that values respect, participation, and kindness, while building strong partnerships with parents and local stakeholders.


Shape the development of the curriculum, pastoral systems, and enrichment programs catering to a diverse group of secondary learners.


Provide inspiring and visible leadership for the secondary campus, establishing high expectations for teaching, learning, and student achievements.


Oversee daily campus operations, including timetable management, staffing, resource distribution, and health and safety compliance.


Direct the implementation of the curriculum for Years 6–12, ensuring it meets the requirements of both Cambridge International and Vietnamese national standards, while facilitating coherent progression between key stages.


Create and execute effective assessment and reporting frameworks to track student progress and inform instructional practices.


Supervise pastoral care and safeguarding initiatives, fostering wellbeing, positive behavior, and a secure learning environment for all students.


Recruit, manage, and mentor secondary staff, nurturing a collaborative culture focused on reflective practice and ongoing improvement.


Lead school-wide initiatives, extracurricular activities, and community engagement events to enhance the student experience.


Cultivate professional relationships with parents, community stakeholders, and the broader VAS leadership team to promote campus achievements and initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Demonstrated Leadership: Experience in senior leadership roles within a secondary school setting, ideally in an international or bilingual context, showcasing a notable record of elevating standards.


Curriculum Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of secondary curricula (Cambridge IGCSE/A-Level or equivalent) and capability to lead curricular development and assessment practices.


Staff Management: Proven ability in recruiting, developing, and managing performance, while building high-functioning teams.


Student-Centric Focus: Dedication to inclusive education, wellbeing, and personalized support for a diverse range of learners.


Operational Expertise: Background in managing budgets, timetables, compliance, and campus logistics with a keen attention to detail and accountability.


Effective Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal skills, facilitating productive interactions with students, staff, parents, and external partners.


Innovative and Reflective: A proactive leader who values evidence-based practices, data-driven decision-making, and continuous professional reflection.

Essential Criteria

A relevant Master's degree in International Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field, along with a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).


Extensive senior leadership experience in secondary education, involving comprehensive school or campus leadership responsibilities.


Demonstrated experience in curriculum leadership, personnel development, and performance management.


Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.


Eligibility to work in Vietnam by the July 2026 start date, or willingness to navigate necessary visa and relocation procedures with VAS’s support.

Compensation

₫3,300 - ₫4,600 per month (Range given includes Base Salary plus Housing Allowance, payable in Vietnam Dong (VND) monthly. The amounts indicated are net of tax.)
