We are currently in search of an enthusiastic Middle School Math & Computer (IT) Teacher to become part of our Mathematics Department. This role will center around teaching Pre-Algebra & Integrated Math in line with the Common Core curriculum, motivating students to cultivate robust analytical and problem-solving skills while incorporating computer literacy concepts.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Education, or a related field (minimum requirement)
- A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience, ideally at the middle school level
- Solid understanding of Algebra consistent with the Common Core standards
- Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals and IT concepts suitable for middle school students
- Capability to effectively integrate technology into instructional practices
- Exceptional communication and classroom management abilities
- Proficiency in utilizing educational software and digital tools

MORE BENEFITS/DETAILS:

-Children: Attend TYIS at no charge aside from ancillary fees (if applicable-bus, uniform, etc).

-Company Insurance: Includes Health and Dental coverage. The typical arrangement is an 80/20 cost-sharing model, with insurance covering 80% and the remaining 20% paid by the employee.

-Taxes and Salary deductions include:

Health Insurance, Employment Insurance, Workers' Compensation, Pension, Income Tax, Residence Tax

-Paid leave:

Begins at 10 days annually and increases over time. There are approximately 3 months of seasonal breaks when attendance on campus is not required.

-Local transportation:

During the academic year, daily commuting expenses are reimbursed.

(Outside of Japan) 200,000 yen (must provide receipts—by receipt only—so please retain all receipts).

ALL STAFF:

-Tokyo YMCA features a campsite at Yamanaka (near Mt. Fuji), where we organize a trip in the fall

-In winter, we arrange a ski trip (location varies).

-You will receive compensation for these trips

-You are not obligated to work on/at Saturday school, as this operates independently.

-1 US $ is approximately ¥154 (based on current rates).

-In Tokyo, housing costs for two individuals range from ¥80,000 to ¥130,000 per month, depending on the size of the accommodation, and tend to be lower if you are a few stations away from the school.

-The average cost of lunch is approximately ¥800 to ¥1,100 at a restaurant, or less if you purchase a lunch box near our school (lunch is also available at school for a lower price).

-Dinner costs around ¥2,000 to ¥4,000 (for two people).
