Bahlool British International School, a prominent British international institution in Baghdad, is in search of qualified, British-trained educators for IGCSE and A Level instruction.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new Sixth Form (A Level) program and are looking for dedicated teachers to help establish this foundational team. Concurrently, we continue to enhance our well-regarded IGCSE program, which has consistently delivered outstanding results for our students.

Curriculum

Our institution adheres to the Pearson (Edexcel) British Curriculum for both IGCSE and A Level. Familiarity with Pearson/Edexcel specifications is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional teaching for IGCSE and A Level (Pearson / Edexcel)

• Design and prepare lessons in accordance with Pearson specifications and assessment criteria

• Assist in the establishment and development of the new Sixth Form Department

• Contribute to curriculum planning, schemes of work, and internal assessments

• Ensure students are well-prepared for external examinations

• Monitor student progress and offer necessary academic support

• Uphold high standards of classroom management and professionalism

• Collaborate effectively with senior leadership and Sixth Form colleagues

• Engage in staff meetings, training, and Sixth Form projects

Person Specification

• British-trained educator with a recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area

• Demonstrated experience teaching IGCSE and/or A Level

• Strong understanding of Pearson / Edexcel examination boards

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

• Passion for contributing to the new Sixth Form initiative

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a developing team

• Experience in international schools or Sixth Form settings is beneficial but not mandatory
