Key Responsibilities:

  • Fostering an environment that encourages outstanding Learning and Teaching
  • Setting clear educational goals and defining approaches for instruction and assessment
  • Crafting engaging tasks that challenge students and capture their interest
  • Establishing ambitious targets that build upon prior achievements
  • Recognizing students with special educational needs (SEN) or those who are exceptionally gifted
  • Delivering structured lessons that sustain momentum, motivation, and challenge
  • Effectively utilizing assessments to cover the curriculum
  • Making effective use of performance data and key metrics to inform lesson planning and support differentiated learning tailored to individual needs
  • Ensuring effective teaching while maximizing the use of available time
  • Creating a supportive learning environment in accordance with academy protocols, promoting punctuality, behavior standards, homework, and overall performance
  • Ensuring students gain and reinforce the knowledge, skills, and understanding necessary for the subject matter
  • Efficiently utilizing classroom support resources
  • Assessing the achievement of learning goals and using this information to enhance teaching strategies
  • Evaluating and tracking students' work, establishing targets for their progress
  • Utilizing performance data to improve planning and ensure Learning and Teaching consistently 'adds value'
  • Regularly assessing and documenting students' progress, maintaining records to confirm understanding, monitor strengths and weaknesses, inform planning, and recognize student achievement levels
  • Conducting assessments for students as required by examination boards and in accordance with departmental and academy protocols
  • Engaging in subject-specific or academy-wide initiatives and establishing clear targets and success criteria for their enhancement or maintenance
  • Contributing to the overall vision of the academy.
  • Complying with health and safety regulations and academy policies regarding safe working practices and equal opportunity laws
  • Participating in annual training related to child protection, safeguarding, health and safety, and any other training relevant to academy improvement or performance management
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of teachers' professional responsibilities and legal obligations
  • Consistently adhering to the academy's established policies and practices
  • Possessing a thorough knowledge of subjects or specializations essential for effective instruction
  • Encouraging effective working relationships and setting a strong example through personal presentation and professional conduct
  • Committing to provide every child with the opportunity to reach their potential and meet high standards
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure the effective and shared use of resources for the benefit of the academy, department, and students
  • Participating in the community life of the academy through active involvement in meetings and management systems that support leadership and administration
  • Engaging in marketing and outreach initiatives such as Open Evenings, Parent-Teacher Consultations, and collaborative events with partner academies
  • Taking responsibility for personal professional development.
