About This Role

Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Key Stage Leader to become a part of The Pearl British Academy in Abu Dhabi for the Academic Year 2026/2027.

This role presents an excellent chance to join the distinguished Aldar community.

Candidates should have a robust understanding of teaching and leading a phase within the English National Curriculum. The ideal applicants will demonstrate a proven track record of implementing successful strategies that enhance standards and address learning gaps, ensuring significant progress for every student. They should also possess leadership experience across various levels and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement departmental policies and practices that align with the School's vision, objectives, commitment to high achievement standards, and effective teaching and learning.
  • Create, monitor, and evaluate short, medium, and long-term development plans for the department.
  • Effectively utilize data to identify students who are underperforming within the department and create action plans to support them.
  • Analyze relevant school data to inform policy decisions and contribute to departmental/school SEF documentation.
  • Ensure the development, implementation, and regular review of appropriate schemes of work for all year groups and courses, including suitable provisions for SEN/POD, G&T, and EAL students.
  • Ensure continuity, progression, and comprehensive curriculum coverage for all students in the department, including those with high abilities and special educational needs.
  • Set clear expectations for staff regarding achievement standards, teaching quality, and behavior.
  • Evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department, using this information to identify effective practices and areas for improvement; take necessary steps to enhance teaching quality.
  • Manage team performance according to the school’s performance management policy.
  • Ensure the effective allocation of staff and resources.
  • Maintain effective oversight of the Department's Resource and CapEx budgets.
  • Utilize facilities effectively to create a stimulating teaching and learning environment in line with the Learning Environment Policy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in the relevant subject, in addition to a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience:

  • At least 6 years of teaching experience.
  • Familiarity with the UK curriculum.
