Teaching and Learning:

  • A thorough understanding of the Curriculum.
  • Organizing classroom resources and learning materials, and creating displays that promote an engaging learning environment.
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons tailored to the diverse needs of all students in the class.
  • Inspiring students through dynamic and creative teaching.
  • Observing and assessing students in line with school assessment protocols.
  • Reflecting on classroom practices, evaluating lessons taught, and adjusting the environment, planning, and curriculum as needed.
  • Collaborating with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when necessary.

Assessment and Data:

  • Taking ownership of class progress.
  • Meeting assessment criteria and documenting student growth using Target Tracker.
  • Leveraging assessment data to inform future planning, provision, and interventions.
  • Providing updates to parents and guardians about student progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

Behavior Management and Duties:

  • Complying with the school's behavior policy.
  • Effectively managing classes by utilizing strategies that meet the needs of students, inspiring, motivating, and challenging them.
  • Establishing positive relationships with students, exercising appropriate authority, and making decisive actions when necessary in accordance with the school's behavior policy.
  • Serving as a positive role model by consistently demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviors expected of students.
  • Maintaining high standards of behavior, encouraging self-control and independence among all learners.
  • Performing duties as directed in line with school policy.

Wider Professional Responsibilities:

  • Engaging in a curriculum action group to support planning, assessment, resources, and special events related to the team.
  • Helping to organize and participate in school events, outings, and activities that may take place on weekends or evenings.
  • Effectively communicating with parents/guardians regarding students' achievements and well-being through school systems such as CPOMS as appropriate.
  • Contributing positively to the overall life and ethos of the school.
  • Leading a weekly ECA each term.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject with a PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of teaching experience.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
