Aldar Academies is seeking a Design Technology Teacher for Bateen World Academy, with the position commencing in the 2026-2027 academic year.

Bateen World Academy, located in the vibrant center of Abu Dhabi, is a highly respected institution within a dynamic community. This British and IB World School is renowned for its high performance, consistently exceeding global averages for the IB Diploma and achieving remarkable I/GCSE results. The academy provides a comprehensive educational pathway, offering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) from FS1 to Year 6, as well as the IB Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) for students in Years 12 and 13. This structure ensures a seamless educational experience from FS1 through Year 13, merging the strengths of the PYP, UK, and IB frameworks.

Teaching and Learning Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum to ensure effective implementation in accordance with learning outcomes.
  • Utilize appropriate syllabi, resources, and work schemes to enhance students' competencies in science specialisms.
  • Organize the classroom and learning materials to create displays that encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that meet the diverse needs of all students within the classroom.
  • Consistently design lessons and sequences for long, medium, and short-term objectives to accommodate individual learning needs.
  • Cultivate a learning atmosphere conducive to exemplary educational practices.
  • Inspire students with enjoyable and innovative lessons that challenge them and foster critical thinking.
  • Set clear teaching and learning objectives and ensure students achieve these targets.
  • Reflect on classroom practices, lessons delivered, and progress made, adjusting the environment, planning, and curriculum as necessary.
  • Support SEN (POD), EAL, and G&T students, ensuring their requirements are met through customized differentiation.
  • Facilitate Hybrid / Distance Learning / Face-to-Face lessons.

Behavior Management and Duties:

  • Follow the school's established policies and procedures, including behavior management, code of conduct, and child safeguarding protocols.
  • Effectively manage classrooms by employing strategies tailored to students' needs to motivate, inspire, and challenge them.
  • Build positive relationships with students, exercising appropriate authority and acting decisively when necessary, in accordance with school policies.
  • Serve as a positive role model, consistently exhibiting the expected attitudes, values, and behaviors.
  • Maintain high expectations for student conduct, encouraging self-control and independence among all learners.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment that fosters the social, emotional, and academic development of every student.
  • Carry out assigned duties in accordance with the school's established policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a comparable teaching position.

  • Experience working with EAL (English as an Additional Language) students.
