About This Role

Job Overview

We are looking for talented educators to teach English, covering lower secondary (Year 7) through to iGCSE level, and possibly A level at our school situated in Koh Samui. This is a unique opportunity to further develop your teaching skills on one of Thailand’s most famous islands while embracing a results-driven educational approach.

Main Duties

  • Contribute significantly to the school by engaging in enrichment activities, developing effective teaching strategies and curricula, offering support to individuals or groups of students, overseeing internal examinations, and participating in outreach initiatives;
  • Teach students of varying ages and abilities, challenging the most advanced learners while providing assistance to those who may need extra support;
  • Focus on your own professional development and growth in collaboration with our leadership team;
  • Comply with the school’s assessment and reporting policies, adhere to the teacher's manual, and attend parent meetings when required;
  • Participate in the school’s co-curricular activities in alignment with our leadership team;
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the safeguarding of all students;
  • Tutor groups of different sizes, taking a genuine interest in their well-being and academic achievements;
  • Regularly assist with various initiatives such as educational development or pastoral care, contributing to the school and building relationships with students.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a reflective educator who:

  • Holds a good honours degree (2:1 or above) and/or a further degree in a relevant field;
  • Is passionate about their subject and can demonstrate the necessary subject knowledge to deliver engaging lessons to a diverse student population at PBISS;
  • Shares PBISS's comprehensive educational vision and is enthusiastic about contributing to both co-curricular and pastoral aspects of school life;
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and can build relationships and collaborate with a wide range of individuals;
  • Is committed to continuous professional development;

  • Welcomes advancements and innovations in teaching and learning, and is open to various assessment and differentiation strategies in the classroom;
  • Is willing to share their educational practices and learn from the collective teaching methods at the school;

  • Demonstrates proficiency in ICT and a readiness to employ different technologies for teaching and learning;

  • Exhibits exceptional oral and written communication skills;
