About This Role

Uphold and promote the principles and standards of excellence as outlined in the GEMS Core Values. ▪ Deliver the prescribed curriculum with a thorough and current understanding of the subject matter. ▪ Design and implement engaging lessons that inspire students. Create and employ suitable materials and classroom settings to accommodate various learning styles. ▪ Provide written documentation of planning and preparation when requested. Maintain comprehensive records including curriculum and yearly plans, attendance, teaching resources, and assessment strategies. ▪ Adhere to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct consistently. ▪ Teach students based on their individual requirements, utilizing appropriate instructional strategies tailored to diverse needs such as late entrants, ESL learners, students with lower academic abilities, and those who are gifted and talented. ▪ Assign and evaluate work. Assess, document, and report on students' academic growth, progress, and achievements, using assessments to ensure the curriculum is aligned with each student's needs. ▪ Demonstrate proficiency in integrating media and technology within the classroom. ▪ Foster the overall development and well-being of students, offering guidance on educational issues. ▪ Communicate with external parties when necessary (e.g., Ministry of Education officials). ▪ Engage in performance appraisal and management processes, as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD). ▪ Collaborate with colleagues in creating and developing teaching materials, resources, curriculum, and pastoral care strategies. ▪ Participate in and, when suitable, lead co-curricular and extra-curricular activities within the school. Cultivate positive working relationships through proactive leadership and sharing of ideas, resources, and experiences. ▪ Oversee and manage safe and appropriate student behavior. Develop and implement strategies that promote self-discipline and address disruptive behavior effectively. ▪ Align with the school's ethos, vision, and mission. ▪ Ensure a safe environment for all students. ▪ Promote cultural awareness and understanding, fostering a passion for learning. ▪ Assist in organizing and planning school events and functions (e.g., inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, and award ceremonies). ▪ Maintain regular communication with parents, advocating for the GEMS philosophy and core values, while keeping them updated on their children's progress and safeguarding the confidentiality of student information. ▪ Demonstrate commitment by going beyond typical work hours when necessary. ▪ Attend staff meetings and participate in committees as required.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
