About This Role
Responsibilities
- Instruct music courses while following the educational standards and regulatory guidelines established by school leadership.
- Provide evidence of lesson planning on a termly, bi-termly, and weekly basis that addresses the diverse needs of students.
- Tailor teaching strategies to accommodate different age groups and skill levels, fostering student curiosity with patience and encouragement.
- Assign homework in line with school policies.
- Monitor and evaluate student behavior, interpersonal relationships, and social development in the classroom.
- Contribute to After-School Clubs (shared responsibility).
- Participate in the Personal Development program sponsored or endorsed by the School.
- Keep parents informed about their children’s academic achievements and growth according to school protocols.
- Build positive relationships and effectively promote the institution within both the local community and beyond.
- Engage actively in the School’s Pastoral Care system, serving as a pastoral tutor, which is a requirement for all educators.
- Support the Admissions team by providing clear information to prospective families about the School and offering guidance and reassurance.
- Represent and advocate for the School at local events as necessary.
- Perform any reasonable tasks as directed by the school principal.
Skills and Experience Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in music education or a related discipline.
- More than two years of teaching experience, along with a relevant subject Teacher Certificate.
- Strong familiarity with the music education curriculum for international schools, possessing a comprehensive knowledge base and skill set.
- Preferably, having studied abroad and/or experience working in an international school environment in China.
- Proficient in English in all aspects: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
