Job Purpose: The primary aim is to organize and deliver academic, personal, social, and emotional counseling for students.
Job Scope: You will hold the overall responsibility for creating and executing a counseling program that aligns with the needs of both the school and its students, enabling them to thrive in every aspect of their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold and promote the ethos and standards of excellence outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
- Set up procedures and timelines to offer students counseling in academic, personal, social, emotional, and psychological areas.
- Manage the transition process for students.
- Establish protocols for obtaining external support for students facing personal challenges and emotional concerns.
- Collaborate with the senior management team to create experiences and activities that foster holistic development in students, encouraging responsibility, leadership, cooperation, and other personal and social skills.
- Maintain comprehensive records of student progress, achievements, activities, and interests, while tracking student development through all available data and evidence.
- Develop proactive guidelines and procedures to address bullying effectively.
- Establish and oversee appropriate testing programs to assess student aptitude and achievement.
- Create systems to promptly inform parents about issues related to class performance, school work, or behavioral challenges.
- Ensure compliance with GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
- Dedicate effort and energy beyond standard working hours when tasks require additional commitment.
- Participate in staff meetings and serve on committees as needed.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as requested by direct and dotted line managers or supervisors.
