About This Role

Role Overview
The Secondary English Curriculum Coordinator will lead the advancement of curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment within the Secondary English program. By working closely with Department Heads, subject teachers, and senior leadership, the coordinator will ensure a smooth academic progression, maintain high standards of teaching and learning, and drive exceptional student results. This position will promote scientific literacy, inquiry, and practical competencies while encouraging professional development and collaboration among faculty members.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Leadership: Lead the creation, assessment, and implementation of the Secondary English curriculum to ensure alignment with Cambridge International and Vietnamese standards, facilitating a smooth transition across key educational stages.


Teaching & Learning: Foster exemplary teaching techniques and inquiry-led learning, integrating practical experiences within the English curriculum. This role includes a teaching commitment of up to 50% of the standard workload (approximately 12 hours per week).


Assessment & Reporting: Develop and maintain effective assessment frameworks, moderation processes, and reporting standards to monitor student progress and refine instructional methods.


Staff Development: Plan and provide targeted professional development, mentorship, and coaching for English teachers aimed at raising standards and sharing best practices.


Resource Management: Oversee the procurement of educational resources and English materials; provide advice on budgetary needs.


Quality Assurance: Regularly review the curriculum, conduct lesson observations, and analyze data to support continuous improvement within the faculty.


Cross-Curricular Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues in English, Design & Technology, and ICT to develop interdisciplinary projects and advance initiatives.


Student Enrichment: Manage extracurricular Mathematics activities, competitions, and enrichment programs designed to stimulate curiosity, engagement, and student leadership in science.


Safeguarding & Safety: Ensure all practical activities comply with health and safety regulations and that safeguarding policies are upheld in accordance with school standards.


Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate the curriculum’s goals and student progress to parents, engage with external partners, and contribute to the overall academic objectives of the school.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Curriculum Expertise: Extensive knowledge of Secondary English curricula (Cambridge IGCSE/IGSE, A-Level).


Teaching Experience: A demonstrated history of effective classroom instruction across secondary levels, including experience in preparing students for external assessments.


Leadership & Collaboration: Experience leading curriculum initiatives, mentoring peers, and collaborating effectively in a multicultural educational setting.


Assessment & Data Use: Skilled in using assessment data to identify learning requirements, inform planning, and enhance student achievement.


Communication Skills: Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.


Innovative Mindset: A reflective educator who adopts evidence-based strategies, technology-enhanced learning, and continuous professional development.

Essential Criteria

A minimum of a Bachelor of Education and/or qualified teacher status (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or an international equivalent) alongside a strong honors degree in English.


Mandatory experience with iGCSE FLE (or GCSE English if from the UK) and A-Level Literature. Applicants should clearly indicate this in their CV and be ready to discuss this during the interview.


Extensive experience in secondary teaching with a proven impact on student outcomes.


Demonstrated experience in curriculum leadership, assessment design, and professional development for peers.


Eligibility to work in Vietnam by the start date in July 2026, or willingness to navigate necessary visa and relocation procedures with VAS support.

Compensation

Range given includes Base Salary plus Housing Allowance, payable in Vietnam Dong (VND) monthly. The amounts indicated are net of tax.
