Our Academic Skills program provides an excellent opportunity for students to advance, catch up, or explore new areas of interest. We invite students of all genders to participate in exceptional educational experiences, ranging from immersive credit courses to weeklong programs aimed at enhancing math, French, and writing abilities, along with Signature Programs centered on leadership and STEM.
We are in search of an enthusiastic educator to lead our week-long Writer’s Toolkit program for students in Grades 9 and 10 this August. In this position, you will implement an engaging curriculum aimed at improving students’ writing skills across various styles and contexts.
What You’ll Do:
- Design & Deliver Focused Workshops: Create engaging sessions that cover essay structure, grammar, style, and voice.
- Facilitate Daily Practice: Direct students through writing exercises to enhance their fluency, clarity, and writing techniques.
- Provide Personalized Feedback: Review student submissions each day, offering tailored guidance based on individual strengths and areas for improvement.
- Encourage Peer Collaboration: Organize group activities that foster shared insights, constructive critique, and teamwork.
- Inspire Confidence: Support students in adopting a positive mindset, helping them see themselves as capable writers who can express their ideas clearly and purposefully.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor of Education is required.
- Must possess an Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification.
- Intermediate and/or Senior Divisions qualification in English is essential.
- Strong proficiency in Google Suite; familiarity with Brightspace is a plus.
- A demonstrated enthusiasm for innovation and creativity in the educational field.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build caring relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- A commitment to fostering inclusive and diverse environments.
- Proven ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing circumstances.
