At Avanti Fields School, we are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Art & Performing Arts Technician to support our vibrant Art, Music, and Drama departments.

In this exciting and varied role, you’ll work alongside talented staff and pupils—helping to prepare engaging lessons, maintain equipment, and support everything from classroom projects to school performances and exhibitions.Experience in the safe and effective use of a kiln for ceramics, including firing techniques and kiln maintenance,would be a desirable additional skill.

Your practical input and creative flair will help bring ideas to life and enrich the artistic journey of our students.

What will you do?

  • Support teaching staff across Art, Music, and Drama by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and assisting with lessons and practical demonstrations.
  • Manage the setup, dismantling, and safe storage of apparatus for lessons, performances, exhibitions, and displays across the creative arts departments.
  • Oversee stock control, including ordering, checking, and maintaining materials and equipment, and carrying out minor repairs where appropriate.
  • Ensure all areas and resources are kept tidy and safe, including the maintenance of health and safety standards and risk assessments.

What are we looking for?

  • Educated to GCSE – including in English, mathematics and science
  • Experience and excellent track record in the field of health and safety in a support role
  • Working knowledge of Art materials and processes
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage, and use resources effectively and efficiently
  • An ability to work creatively as an individual and as part of a team
