ROLE SUMMARY:

King’s College, The British School of Alicante, one of Spain's most prestigious British schools, is on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join our team starting in late August 2026. This position entails teaching General Science to students of varying abilities in the Middle School, within an encouraging, innovative, and high-achieving environment. The ideal candidate will nurture curiosity, scientific reasoning, and a passion for learning among students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and deliver engaging, high-quality General Science lessons to Middle School students (typically at the KS3 level).

• Tailor instruction to accommodate mixed-ability learners, ensuring that all students achieve significant progress.

• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in accordance with school and British curriculum standards.

• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes curiosity and scientific exploration.

• Contribute to the advancement of the science curriculum and collaborate with colleagues in departmental planning.

• Actively engage in school life, including extracurricular activities, school events, and pastoral support.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A relevant degree in Science or a related discipline, along with a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent).

• Experience teaching Science at the KS2/KS3 or Middle School level, preferably within a British curriculum setting.

• A strong enthusiasm for STEM education and the capability to motivate students across a range of abilities.

• Effective classroom management and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
