Position Overview
The One World International School is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Primary School English Teacher to become part of our international team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching English throughout the primary school, adhering to the Cambridge Primary curriculum, and helping students cultivate robust literacy skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
At TOWIS, teachers are tasked with delivering exceptional lessons, closely monitoring student progress, and providing constructive feedback to facilitate improvement. Given that many of our students are learning in English as an additional language, it is essential for teachers to adeptly support language development while upholding high academic standards.
We seek a teacher who embraces a holistic educational philosophy and is eager to actively participate in the broader school community, including assemblies, events, projects, and extracurricular activities.
• Instruct English across the primary years in alignment with the Cambridge curriculum
• Create engaging lessons that enhance reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
• Utilize a robust synthetic phonics approach for phonics instruction
• Design lesson plans that cater to students with varying abilities and language proficiencies
• Leverage assessment and academic data to guide lesson planning, teaching, and targeted student support
• Regularly evaluate student progress and offer clear, actionable feedback
• Foster a positive and well-organized classroom environment
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the school's development initiatives
• Actively engage in the broader school community
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related discipline
• Recognized teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent preferred)
• At least two years of experience teaching at the primary level
• Background in teaching English to primary school students
• Strong knowledge and practical experience with synthetic phonics
• Experience utilizing assessment and academic data to guide instruction and track student progress
• Teaching practices in line with UK Teachers’ Standards and/or Cambridge Teaching Standards
• Native English speaker with outstanding communication skills
