Key Responsibilities:

• Formulate and execute departmental policies and practices that align with the School's vision, objectives, commitment to high achievement standards, and effective teaching and learning strategies.
• Establish, assess, and refine short, medium, and long-term plans for departmental development.
• Utilize data effectively to identify students who are underperforming in the department; devise and implement action plans to support these students.
• Analyze and interpret relevant school data to inform policy development and contribute to the department/school SEF writing.
• Ensure that appropriate and relevant schemes of work are developed, implemented, and regularly reviewed for all year groups and courses, including provisions for SEN/POD, G&T, and EAL students.
• Guarantee curriculum coverage, continuity, and progression within the department for all students, including those with high abilities and those with special educational needs.
• Set clear expectations for staff regarding achievement standards, teaching quality, and student behavior.
• Evaluate the teaching and learning quality within the department to identify effective practices and areas needing improvement; take action to enhance teaching and learning quality.
• Ensure the department actively contributes to the school's CAS Programme and organizes after-school Booster/Revision Sessions for I/GCSE and IB DP courses.
• Perform performance management of the team in line with the school's performance management policy.
• Manage the deployment of staff and resources efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain effective control over the Department's Resource and CapEx budgets.
• Utilize facilities effectively to foster an engaging and stimulating environment for teaching and learning, in accordance with the Learning Environment Policy.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject with a PGCE or another teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience:

• A minimum of 6 years of teaching experience.
• Familiarity with the UK curriculum.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
