About This Role
Saint Paul American Scholars (SPAS) is an expanding K-12 education district dedicated to cultivating responsible citizens and preparing students for their college journeys. This involves instilling essential ethical qualities such as courage, compassion, integrity, justice, truth, reasoning, fairness, respect, and honesty, alongside the core academic curriculum.
A thriving school environment is marked by high-quality instruction from teachers and effective learning outcomes for students. This necessitates a secure atmosphere for everyone involved with SPAS, alongside a strong focus on citizenship and fair application of rules across the entire Saint Paul Scholars community. We recognize the importance of parental involvement in the educational journey and hold them accountable for their children's academic performance and behavior.
SPAS is in search of educators who view themselves as more than mere teachers. Ideal candidates are those who seek to discover additional ways to assist struggling students, provide challenges for those excelling, and understand the reasons behind student performance levels. A true educator is driven by the commitment to ensure that students not only survive but truly thrive. Collaboration with fellow educators and community stakeholders to support student growth is essential.
Educators know that teaching extends beyond merely assigning, collecting, and grading assignments. If you resonate with this philosophy, we are eager to hear from you.

At SPAS, we believe that every teacher is an ELL teacher. All classes aim to enhance English language acquisition, regardless of the subject area. This teacher will conduct four classes each week for their assigned grade levels to reteach, review, and build upon previous lessons, ultimately working to close these gaps and help students achieve grade-level proficiency.
