THE ACADEMY
GEMS World Academy–Dubai (GWA) is a prestigious private IB World School offering education from PreK to Grade 12. Established in 2008 and part of GEMS Education, GWA is authorized to provide PYP, MYP, DP, and CP programs, and it holds accreditation from the Council of International Schools as well as the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

THE ROLE
Our Product Design department has played a pivotal role in elevating student outcomes and cultivating a passion for learning at GEMS World Academy. The department is highly esteemed by students for the personal support and care provided.
We invite applications from enthusiastic MYP/DP Product Design educators who feel their skills, experience, and values resonate with GEMS World Academy’s mission to inspire a love for learning, with positions available starting August 2026.
SKILLS
The ideal applicant will have a proven history of effective teaching and facilitating student success. While experience with the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programs is preferred, we also welcome exceptional educators from various curriculum backgrounds to apply. A strong alignment with the IB philosophy and a commitment to the values of the Learner Profile are essential. A sincere enthusiasm for working in a non-selective, culturally diverse setting is also a key requirement. Additionally, candidates should possess:

A Bachelor of Education degree or an initial degree along with a relevant teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent specialization in Product Design
•
Advanced qualifications are preferred but not mandatory
•
At least 3 years of experience teaching Secondary Product Design, ideally within an IB curriculum environment, although this is not a strict requirement
•
A solid grasp of the IB MYP/DP framework and Approaches to Teaching is preferred
•
A strong inclination towards continuous improvement in practice and delivering exceptional teaching and learning experiences for students
•
The experience, personality, and educational philosophy that align with a distinguished IB World School like GEMS World Academy
•
Availability from August 2026

NEXT STEPS
Candidates who are shortlisted will be invited for an initial screening call, followed by interviews in early 2026 (both in-person and virtual) for roles beginning in August 2026. Please note that interviews are by invitation only.
We will also be visiting the UK in April to conduct in-person interviews.
