English Teacher (High School Diploma / IBDP)

The Hamilton International School (THIS), part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), is on the lookout for an outstanding English Teacher to become part of our vibrant Secondary team. About the Role

We seek a dedicated and student-focused English educator with experience in teaching Grades 6–12, specifically in High School Diploma and/or IBDP English. The ideal candidate will cultivate a passion for literature and language, provide enriching learning experiences, and uphold the highest standards in achievement, literacy, and communication skills.

You will be part of a cooperative department that champions innovation, reflective practices, and strong connections with students, colleagues, and families.

Key Responsibilities



Instruct English for Grades 6–12, including High School Diploma and/or IBDP courses.


Deliver stimulating, well-organized lessons that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and academic excellence.


Implement effective assessment methods to track student progress and guide planning.


Tailor instruction to accommodate the diverse needs of learners, including EAL and high-ability students.


Establish a safe and respectful classroom atmosphere anchored in high expectations.


Contribute to the development of curricula, schemes of work, and departmental resources.


Maintain strong communication with parents regarding student progress and wellbeing.


Engage in the broader life of the school, including extracurricular and enrichment activities.


Adhere to the school’s safeguarding, health & safety, and professional conduct standards.

Qualifications & Experience


Bachelor’s degree in Education or English (with teaching qualification).


Valid teaching certification that complies with Qatar MOEHE requirements.


A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, including High School Diploma and/or IBDP English.


In-depth knowledge of curriculum frameworks, assessment strategies, and effective teaching methodologies.


Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management abilities.


Capacity to collaborate effectively in an international, multicultural setting.


Dedication to ongoing professional development and student wellbeing.
