PRIMARY CLASS TEACHER

Established in September 2016, NACIS Shanghai is a day and boarding school dedicated to providing a creative, challenging, and fulfilling educational experience. We welcome students aged 6 to 18 into our progressive and internationally-minded community. Our unique bilingual, blended learning program leads to both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and A-level Programme. Situated in the Minhang District of Shanghai, our school boasts world-class facilities that enhance our innovative teaching approach. NACIS Shanghai is eager to find a Primary Class Teacher to enhance the quality of teaching and learning within the Primary School.

You will enhance the educational experience for our students through various initiatives, including the Global Campus, Nord Anglia University, and partnerships with renowned institutions such as The Juilliard School, MIT, UNICEF, IMG, and King’s College London.

THE SCHOOL

Since its inception in September 2016, NACIS Shanghai has provided students with a creative, challenging, and rewarding educational environment. Our progressive and globally aware school community welcomes students aged 6 to 18. We offer a unique bilingual, blended learning program that leads to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Our Minhang District location features world-class facilities designed to support our innovative educational practices.

Our faculty includes professionals from 10 different nations, with a significant representation from China, the UK, Ireland, and North America.

THE ROLE:

We are in search of a Primary Class Teacher where your responsibilities will include:

• Teaching Guided Reading, Phonics, English, Thematic Learning, Visual Arts, and Extended Maths to Grade 1 or 2 students while serving as the Homeroom Teacher for that class.

• Alternatively, teaching several classes of Grade 3 to 5 English and Guided Reading, while the national teacher assumes the Homeroom Teacher role.

• Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum.

• Ensuring that planning, preparation, teaching, recording, assessment, and reporting align with student needs and school expectations.

• Setting high expectations for our students by designing learning activities that align with our Primary curriculum, fostering a culture of limitless achievement.

• Creating a respectful classroom environment that encourages learning through questioning and discussion.

• Actively participating in the broader development and growth of the school.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Qualified Teacher status with a minimum of three to four years of teaching experience in Primary education, ideally with two years in a UK school.

• A solid understanding of effective teaching and learning theories and practices that cater to the individual needs of all children through classroom organization, differentiation, and learning strategies.

• A PGCE/QTS or a nationally recognized teaching license.

• A degree in English Language and Literature is preferred.

• A team-oriented mindset and flexibility.

Eager to collaborate and share your specialized knowledge, you will serve as an excellent ambassador for the school. You will communicate effectively with diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to foster strong relationships with parents and students. Your ability to adapt quickly to our dynamic international environment, along with meeting visa-related requirements for China—including a bachelor's degree, a clean criminal background check, and a minimum of 24 months of teaching experience—will be essential.

Compensation

CN¥27,000 - CN¥36,000 per month (Competitive package provided including flight, relocation, housing and world-wide covered medical insurance.)
